Afrodisiac Performance Group

This is the original core group of Afrodisiac, with new recruits occasionally joining in. We are 10 drummers, led by Steve Haden. Afrodisiac Drum Circle
Weekly session Wednesday evenings

We meet every Wednesday from 7:30 to 10:00 (cost per session is £5.00). To find us, click here for details on how to get here.

You must attend a workshop for basic playing, since the drum circle is growing too large to give individual basic instructions at the Wednesday meetings.

Workshops

The Djembe history, construction, warming up exercises, notation, playing positions, hand positioning, playing basic rhythms, care of your hands. Drums are supplied. See Steve's own homepage for more details of workshops.

Drum Village

Now in its fourth year, Afrodisiac organise the only African Drumming Festival in Scotland. This year we had more teachers, more workshops, more performances than ever before. For details, see the Drum Village website at http://www.africandrumvillage.com. Sorry, but 2008 is already sold out.
